According to Dallas Morning news Dallas-Fort Worth has gained more new residents than any metropolitan area in the country, adding more than 1 million people in an eight-year period. The region's population now tops 7.5 million, solidifying North Texas' ranking as the nation's fourth-largest metro area. Texas has six of the largest cities in the United States which include Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso. Since 2018 an estimated 700,000 Californians left the Golden State to now call Texas home. According to Betsy Price, the Mayor of Fort Worth, Tarrant County has the third highest number of out of state residences right behind Dallas and Houston. What allure does our great state of Texas have that could attract these costal people away from the oceans and beaches of Cali?
